J held another two-day intensive digital photography class at Leesville High School this week Monday and Wednesday. Students were very enthusiastic and they were very much involved in the class. J was blessed to have so many nice students. Questions came up are the followings: how to take night scene pictures, how to take sports pictures, how to take kids pictures, and what the most important features of digital photography.
Students learned two basic things on their first day – ISO settings and White balances. They learned two more additional important things on their second day – Shutter speeds and apertures. J explained the effects of shutter speeds, differences among aperture values, types of lenses, types of cameras, and types of hot-shoe flashes.
J plans to open three-day intensive course Fall 2010. Students were asked for longer classes and hands-on classes; therefore, he plans to offer three-day photography course this year and then four-day photography course next year (Spring 2011).
day 1 – iso and white balances
day 2 – shutter and aperture
day 3 – outdoor photography (will be added in Fall 2010)
day 4 – business of photography (will be added in Spring 2011)
